A cozy reading corner is enveloped in soft natural light created by the solar shades. They also help to preserve the custom fabric on the chair and ottoman. Katherine re-purposed a small down-filled comforter with a custom cover to make a cozy throw to curl up in. Chair and ottoman: Kravet. Reading lamp: Circa Lighting. Side table: Ballard Designs

Our clients needed a small dining table only for special occasions. They had a brilliant idea to create a pedestal coffee table for every day use that could be transformed into a dining table. By adding two half-circle shaped leaves and raising the steel swivel base to the right height, the coffee table becomes a dining table for four.

Coming from Minnesota this couple already had an appreciation for a woodland retreat. Wanting to lay some roots in Sun Valley, Idaho, guided the incorporation of historic hewn, stone and stucco into this cozy home among a stand of aspens with its eye on the skiing and hiking of the surrounding mountains.

Design Dilemma: Our clients needed a place to store their beautiful bass and their extensive collection of books and records. Solution - We transformed this unused corner in the great room into a beautiful and functional storage space.
Using a subtle instrument rack so the client could easily remove the bass to play, we were able to showcase the bass as a work of art and make it a focal point in the space. We also added a rolling ladder to access the top of the bookshelf and to make the space more interesting.

Created for an avid young reader, this quiet corner gives books a dedicated place within the bedroom while providing a comfortable spot to settle in and read. Slim concealed shelves allow the colorful book collection to appear as though it is floating on the wall, turning practical storage into a playful visual display without requiring a bulky bookcase.
The sculptural swivel chair was selected for its baseball-glove-inspired silhouette, bringing a playful, distinctly boyish element to the room while still offering a comfortable place to read and unwind. Warm brown leather and soft bouclé upholstery create an inviting contrast of color and texture, while the coordinating ottoman adds another layer of comfort. Positioned beside the window, the reading corner benefits from natural light and feels truly tailored to its young owner.
