Height of fireplace

I have purchased a regency fireplace that looks similar to this design. I would like it to be this high but the sales person said I may be able to see "up" the fireplace which is meant to stay hidden. Does anyone have any advice as we are framing in the next few days! Thanks in advance

    The best way to judge this is to sit on your seating that will be near the fireplace and measure you eye level from the floor up, then subtract an inch or two to make sure you won't be looking up the fireplace.
