We are taking down the wall between our kitchen and dining room to take advantage of the views of the backyard from two walls of what I call the 'cafe' windows and allow views of front yard while prepping in kitchen. The existing dinning room (9ft9in x 12ft4in) is narrow and the additional views will make overall flow better. Current kitchen prep area is also relatively small (10 ft x 10 ft9in) so we also able to expand the 'cafe' 4.5 ft into garage making space more usable (perhaps transfer dining space here). What location wou ld be best to place the 36 inch fridge? I initially thought of placing in the former door to the garage. However the 'cafe' was an addition by prior owner so the areas leading into the cafe were formerly exterior walls. As a result removing the 22inch support beam may not be possible. Placing the fridge where the now 32inch former garage door was will effectively block all the views from the dining room. Additionally, I would like to add a prep island with seating for 3. My hope is to be able to use the island to prep meals while seeing little one in front/back yard. I ultimately hope to make space more effective and flow better. Help! Very much welcome your ideas!!!
