I like your furniture pieces, and would be inclined toward white walls that let them stand out more, coupled with rattan shades hung at the ceiling line, and ceramic based lamps to bounce light off of, and provide accent tones. ( Beige will double down on the yellow tones in the room, and could feel oppressively warm coupled w the low ceilings. Grey will provide cooler contrast, and is worth testing against your light levels to see whether it will provide a fresh or shadowed effect.)
On a different note, I suggest a high headboard: the bed could use some punctuation, and the height will cheat the sensation of more space. An open back is fine if you prefer to let the light in. Alternately, a linen upholstered one would cover the offset window and help block sun in the morning. In either case, no window treatment would be needed behind.

Thanks to everyone for all the great ideas so far! Studio10001 I had that thought about a headboard hiding the window above the bed. I do really like the furniture and would love to make it stand out more, right now the room color does nothing for it. Any ideas about how I could provide lighting above the vanity? I put the floor lamp there as a temporary solution. The top opens and provides a mirror so it would be inconvenient to put a light on the vanity itself.

Vertical sconces on either side will give you the best makeup lighting. Yours will show their wall cords, so take that into consideration when choosing.

I'm checking retail sources on that and not liking the prices. Next best option is a picture light hung over the vanity, and aimed into the mirror. Lightingdirect has this one on sale, but several to choose from:
