The tilers are doing our bathroom now and we are using the same tile as below. We are trying to find out how the edges were trimmed.

For the inset shower box, it looks like the tile edges are exposed. It is a rectified tile with a finished edge. Is this okay? Or do I need to put some schluter there?

And, how do you manage the schluter when a vertical piece intersects a horizontal piece such as where the 1/2 tiled wall meets the corner with the full tiled wall? I don't want any rough or sharp metal exposed.
