I voted for the Tuscan villa although my fav place from TV is Mary Tyler Moore's apartment in the Mary Tyler Moore show. That sunken living room, huge balcony & window... gorgeous!

I can't say I remember the rest of the house, but I might just be willing to kill for Kathleen Turner's lighted shoe closet in "The War of the Roses." And yes, Kate, Meryl Streep's house in "It's Complicated" gave me major house envy.

We can't forget "Tara" from Gone With the Wind!

I actually prefer Julia Robert's quaint rental house much better than the stark and uninviting beach house mansion she escaped! But I do agree that the large house was impressive!

And I suspect if we had been shown more of them, I would have definitely loved Niles' house and then apartment in "Frasier." What I saw of them I loved.

Both Niles' and Frasier's apartments on "Frasier" were wonderful--even if Frasier's kitchen was too small. Somewhere out there on the internet I once saw a floorplan for Frasier's place--wonderful!

I can't think of a single British film with an envy-inspiring domestic interior that isn't a stately home or palace. Most of our cinema and even TV seems to go for the gritty rather than the glamorous.

I still like the Bewitched House-not too big but not too small either & found one of those kitchen stoves on craigslist one time-alas it was like 1000 miles away but still just knowing that there are a few of them out there -haha

And also silly-but I've always loved the Flintstones one-the cartoon of course!!

I'm torn between the beach house in Something's Gotta Give or the house from The Big Chill (okay, I'm dating myself). Can I have them both?????

I can't believe nobody has mentioned Karen Blixen's house in "Out of Africa". It is a real place and still there. It was too small to film in so the film company built a replica that could accommodate the cameras. They are both there and are museums. I have always been so obsessed I even corresponded with the museum director about the house. Very lovely people.

There are loads of web sites since I first fell in love with this house in the 1980's. One of the best is Hooked on Houses, film houses. Fortunately I live in an area that this particular house would look completely at home. I dream of building it. It is nice that others appreciate this house.

Mr Blandings builds his dream house, 1948, yr I was born, He paid, (Cary Grant) , $30,000 for it, same year my father paid $4,500 for a triple decker in Boston ma. The movie house was in Conn. Nuf said!

Can't believe you included the cottage from The Holiday! It's my all-time fave movie home but I thought I was the only one who preferred that over the mansion!

Please God, anything other than the standard 3bd 2ba ranch. But if I could, a real Cotswold cottage, stone with a thatched roof, on 3 wooded acres. "Honey, did ya remember to buy a Lottery ticket"?
