Do you have a price range you'd like to stay around? They come in quite a wide price range.
Also, you really don't want barstools. You want counterstools. Barstools seat height is 30" which is too close to your countertop.

There's a company called Sunpan that we buy from that has well styled and comfortable pieces. Here's a link to the site. Their site is flash, so I can't do a link to a specific piece, but look at Newport, Claudine and Laguna. They only work with a network of dealers, so you'll have to find a dealer in your area. Johnston Casuals makes some well designed metal stools you can order in a nice range of finishes. Very nice quality and comfort too. I really like the laser cut metal back pieces too.

Stunning home! I love my upholstered barstools from Ballard Design. Enough fabric choices (my Sunbrella has lasted 2 1/2 years with 3 active kids), they swivel, and they nicely cross that line between formal, clean line, and traditional.

I suggest that whatever you decide on shouldn't have backs, especially if they swivel. If a person facing the kitchen swiveled around to face the eating area, the back would hit the counter. If you have children, be prepared to hear a lot of bumping. Just something to think about. : )

@Toni Sabatino - have you actually gotten things from United Furniture Group in the past? I would have to order without going to NY, so am shy about it.

I actually ordered this item from a local place in Melville, NY, where I saw it on diplay. I bought 4 of them 3 years ago and they are performimg well. The contact is Michael at Top Dinette, 631-465-9800.
Hope that helps....as a side note, with the seat at the proper height the back actually clears the bar top if you swing it around and they are quite comfortable.

I know they're at the top of your price range, but I LOVE those Iron & Wood barstools that you have in your kitchen Ideabook. If they come in counter height, I would totally go for those.

Regardless, I think you need something on the dark side in there. Of course, you haven't put furniture in yet, but it's something to think about.
