The metal gates on this project were made by John Sewell, of Tucson, Arizona. He's not normally in the metal gate business, yet was a partner on this spec home project and involved his creative energies. He is Owner of Formula One Automotive Arts. John utilized scrap metal that was being thrown out from a local manufacturer (of among other products) lawn mower blades. These sheets were apparently laser-cut outs, and considered scrap. After designing & constructing the gates, he rusted them with muriatic acid, rinsed them thoroughly, and then applied an automotive paint sealer to freeze the rusted finish. Same with the garage doors on this project. As far as I know, there has been no rust residue/run-off from the rains. This project is over 10 years old. Go John!
