Here are some of my inspirations, but none of it is exactly what I'd want.

I can't really tell, but it looks like the couch is orange right? I definitely like the teal color, but not on the walls. The teal color should be used for like the accent pillows, candles on the table, etc. I'd actually add white in there too. I'm a fan of orange, teal and white. Mirrors on the wall to make the place look bigger and I think a white clock would look real nice. Now for the walls...the light blue doesn't look so bad. Good idea on the arc lamp. CB2 sells a great one!

Find a cream paint for the walls that coordinates with the gold of the sectional. I'd reupholster the chairs to a neutral cream or tan. Then you can add any complementary bright colors in throw pillows, vases, etc. if you can keep,it clean, a cream or light rug would be nice. And you could find an interesting geometric retro print in gold and cream for simple pinch pleat curtains. That gold sectional looks pretty big, so I'd calm down the rest of the space. Otherwise it could get a bit wild.

first, i'd remove the brown area rug and curtain panels and relocate what appears to be a desk (in the last pic...I'm not sure what it is) and move the chairs to where the desk was. I'd probably tend to stay tone on tone with the palette....going neutral on the walls (BM revere pewter?), and look for some longer, straight hanging curtain panels (maybe in a wide horizontal stripe?) and play up on the golden shade of the sofa and the orangey chairs with some modern, clean lined, patterned fabrics in that color family for toss pillows. then add a few pops of the blues you want with some modern art prints that have the furniture colors in them and perhaps a touch of the blue you want and a few well placed, not too small accessories. be sure to add plenty of lower level lighting...table and floor lamps as this space feels dark.

Love the pieces that you have so far. I would look for a coffee table in simple mid mod type lines in a color/style that draws from the arms of the chairs - perhaps a lacquered darker table. Some great art - I would remove the existing rug and either add a rug with a pattern, perhaps a geometric, or just go with the existing wall to wall. For the drapes I would go with a pattern. Do like the idea of going with a teal with the existing color. including for the wall color, but I would keep it light and muted. One possibility would be something like Sherwin Williams sea salt shown below with colors similar to your room. I think an arc lamp would look great in here.

A couple of great mid-century modern pieces would bring this room together. The Eames Lounge chair and the Arco lamp are both iconic and classic. Here's some information on them if you're interested in creating an awesome space!
