Couch ideas -style-colour-materials

I"m a mish mash of ecclectic traveled organic materials and the glass/stainlessteel/contemp and it's all mushed into a small space.
I'm finally getting rid of my big brown sofa that is comfy but was not aesthetically pleasing. The problem is that i already spent money on all the other furniture so the sofa now has to fit into the space and look.
I need ideas for style and colour (i'm doing a grey/taupe all over the house because my walls are bright). Also sectional or not...it's a tiny place as you can see. I'm in Toronto and would love a store recommendation.

I agree with karemore. No to the sectional. Look for *small scale* furniture to fit your space;)

i was thinking of this from ikea because it's the only comfy one but i realize that it's pretty much a scaled down version of my big brown sofa!

    Which one is that?

I think I like the first one as it has more modern lines, which I think would suit your space better. Not sure if that is the best color, though. Which one is it, and what other colors does it come in? It almost looks like the Karlstadt.

Oh, I see it's not Ikea, judging by the surrounding furniture and accessories!

it's not ikea :) i'll post the swatch of colours (i was thinking 2nd lightest)
Yes, I like that color. The lightest color will be too high-contrast against your white walls, I think.

And the second color (that you are considering) is similar to the leather chairs, so you will get some harmony there.

Hi Ildi, I really, really like that sofa in your space. Your bright colors are fantastic, and yet they need something neutral to play off of, so your sofa is doing that. Good job!

I like the Chindi pouff from Pier One. It's the first one shown below, along with a close-up of its colors. You can see your teal and orange represented in there, along with a whole whack of other colors.

The Old Bengali pouff - also from Pier One - might also work, depending on your tastes. There might be a bit too much red in it to really work in your space. You'd probably have to bring it home and try it out.

That teal patchwork one I posted a ways back is from an etsy vendor and ships from India, but the price is right and the site has good reviews, so if you like it, I can post the info on it. It's made from recycled saris.

This orange tree bark one is also from an etsy vendor, shipping from the US. Let me know if you want the info on that one as well.

I don't mind the floral pillow, but it maybe needs a bright solid tucked in with it. Perhaps one of these Ikea pillows - or both - would work?
Or, you could remove the floral one and use this patchwork one from Crate & Barrel, along with the solid in cayenne from West Elm. If you use this patchwork pillow, I wouldn't also do a patchwork pouff - it would be overkill on the patchwork!

Check out the Pomada ottomans, with and without legs. It's a stool, it's a table, and it's storage. Plus, it's so darn cute.

i've bought so many pillows and returned them, i'm slightly terrified or more. the couch is really small and shallow and wasn't sure more than 2 won't even fit. about pouffs- the pier 1 is 'not available' :( but i feel a little pouf will get lost and will look bad in the middle of the carpet..not sure what shape or height i should get or coffee table? or what?!

i do like the idea of those ikea pillow to add to this..keep ideas comin!

It's all shaping up! loving it all now :)

Lol, Ildi - you gave up on finding a pouff? This ottoman looks good, though. A little more toned-down than I would have expected from you. But, if you like it, so do I!
