12 years after building our 1st home, we have decided to build again and are struggling with the doorknob decision. The new house is a craftsman style. Today we have Baldwin Reserve Curve levers in a polished brass finish throughout the house, they have suited us well for the last 12 years, and we continue to enjoy them.

The new house is larger with more doors, etc and we're evaluating alternatives in terms of finish and quality. Any opinions out there regarding polished brass vs. oil rubbed bronze? (not interested in Nickel) If we stick with the polished brass we will likely use the same levers as above as we have been able to find some deals on them. If we move to ORB, we were looking at the Baldwin Prestige and are open to other options. A bit concerned about the quality of the Prestige line...

Any opinions on polished brass door levers? In/out? coming back? stay away?

If ORB, any other recommendations on brand? We were also looking at Emtek which seems a bit more affordable than the higher end Baldwin but more expensive than the Prestige line.
