these cabinets are not old .. if you paint them it will look cheap .. this is my idea .. you must change your lightning you can paint your walls ,you can put more white decoration things ... we must also see your living room picture because it is together as ı see

I was going to have a professional refinished do the cabinets in a cream color if that helps

Off white/ cream color would look nice.
