Which color scheme works better?

We just had our awning redone. My house is to the left. I can not work with the neighbor she does not what to make any changes on her side but we can choose the paint color.

I prefer the darker color scheme because it creates some depth and makes the door and window pop. Unfortunately my boyfriend wants everything white...i feel like there's no focus, it just creates a white mess. But I could be wrong. We need HELP! LOL! All suggestions are welcomed.

I would go with the white. Also, the bay window and the double window are too wide for shutters so doing them in black to tie to the porch roof really wont work. Plus, since you aren't painting the siding over her double window it would look too disjointed.

I vote for the first picture, with the grey gable end and no shutters. The 2 houses will appear more unified.

^^^ if you had a detached house, I do like your black color scheme with a few logically placed shutters better, but you don't, so you need to just accept that and work with what you have. It's a very nice facade and i dont think you should try to make this unit into something that its not. That's why I might rethink the storm door, or try to tone it down a bit. Just a thought.
