Lisa, hello. In looking at your space, the first thing I notice is the TV is on a very small stand. I would buy a larger piece of furniture to support. They make some nice corner consoles now. Or, you could place above fireplace. I would add one large piece of art for above your mantel. There needs to be some art on the wall above the sectional as well. I do not see any lamps. If you do get 2 accent chairs, I would add a small table and floor lamp. I would also add a small table lamp for the sofa table. Does not look like you have an area rug, which would help anchor the space and could be the inspiration for the color palette. I agree with you that I would remove the drapes and replace with something more substantial. Good luck.

Good Afternoon! You didn't mention anything about what colors you were attracted t, so I went ahead and did a board with deep blue and golden hues. I think those would pair nicely with the existing furnishings you have. You definitely need a bigger TV stand. I found one from pier one that is a transitional style that I think you may like. You also need a "wow" factor at that fireplace. As a focal point now, there is not much punch. I would suggest adding a wainscot, if you are comfortable with doing so. This is a simple build project, made even simpler if you have the lumber pre-cut when you purchase it. I attached a picture of a finished wall with a wainscot. I can give you more details on construction if you are interested. I would also play around with texture in that space. I put in a wicker style chair (ignore the stock red cushion, you would get a blue one), button tufts, textured pillows, art with raised detail, lamps you can fill with own material, etc. I hope this helps, let me know if you need any more information.

Congrats on your sectional, it looks amazing! Deep/navy blue (as keesra01 suggests) would look very nice in your room. If you prefer more earthy tones, olive green would also go really well with your sectional. I could imagine something like this above it:

I LOVE the idea of the blues! I have never decorated with that color and it would be a fun change. I really like this chair from target minus the legs.

Does the tv have to stay in that corner? Was wondering if the sectional could just swing around to in front of the window and have the tv on the wall opposite the window. Use the console table from behind the sectional to put the tv on. Leave room in the corner where the tv is now for hubby's recliner....tucked in a little closer to the fireplace maybe. Then two chairs from Target could go on either side of the tv???

I forgot to tell you that everything on that design board came from pier one. Don't forget I can get construction details for that wainscot if you want. Is super easy: drywall back, 1x4 clear stock poplar, install, caulk, and paint with high gloss paint. Good luck!
