What to do with this toilet space

Our master bath has all this space around the toilet. I'd like to do some sort of wall treatment to dress up the alcove and make it seem smaller. My cabinets are a dark traditional style. We are open to anything!

That really isn't that much extra room so be careful about putting anything too big up there.

This is one picture that was posted in an other discussion. I would make the 2 closed storage higher so you could store the plunger and the toilet brush.

Hang some pictures or a hanging magazine rack. Move trash can to far back side.

I would just put a nice area rug with a color that you love and then go from that. Buy a nice container with a lid for storage and a nice roman shade on the window mounted right under the crown moulding on the frame in a nice printed fabric , once you have the rug you can go from there. Towels, a cushion for the window seat in a coordinating fabric. You have a lot of height in there, you could break it up with family pictures framed in silver frames.
