What is that black box in the corner to the left of the sliding door? It almost looks like a fireplace, but if it is, it's in an awkward place.

Will you have a TV in this room? If so, from what I can see, it looks like it needs to go on the wall where the sofa is now.

There are so many accessories available. In your open plan one color could be great- which one....Please tell is your floor a bit red in tone?

How about couch where the chair is, chair on an angle on the wall facing towards the slider, ottoman next to the chair with a nice wooden tray on it or a throw, rectangular area rug centered in the room. Much larger artwork above sofa or a grouping of pictures. A larger dining room table as ell with a rug underneath that as well. Let us know if that helps a little!

So I guess by your rug post that you think flooring is quite warm... I'm not so crazy about the blond arms, especially with richer wood underneath. If dining area had chairs in blond, maybe........can you have another choice of chair in a color you like, considering the fireplace's color --- by the way is it creamy or tan? how should it tie in? Could walls be that sort of color? or in art or rug?

Thanks so much for all the comments and suggestions. Yes the wood is a bit reddish. Here is the pic of the wall with my current TV unit which i plan to change.

Couch color suggestions and coffee table suggestions are also a few things im looking at.

You can't use your black couch? not sure it couldn't work....just takes up more visual space, but is that bad?
Creams and greys can be very nice together..is fp creamy or?
