ideas to hide a bulging baseboard?

we have a pipe running between the studs behind the wall. when the drywall was installed, the resulting wall was not flat. we didn't notice a bulge in the wall until the baseboard was installed. any one have suggestions as to how we can hide this bulge? it is in a pretty high traffic area and will be quite visible :(

No wall is truly flat. That wall is a little less flat then most. Since you have the doorway to the left you can't really put something in front of it. I will tell you it will be far less noticeable once your floor is uncovered.

That is a noticeable bend, in this case wall studs should be "furred out" before sheetrock installation.
Take the sheetrock down, fur out the studs and re-install the sheetrock. It's not a big deal and it can be done in a few hours especially now days with fast drying compounds.

Is the pipe the problem -- is it too big? A yardstick or other straight edge on the floor would show us the extent of the bow.
