May i suggest a light very reflective "natural" glass color. I suggest reflective because it will add some sparkle, pop and uniqueness. Good Luck

Oh my! Where to start.....have you recently painted these cabinets? I personally would do things differently to give the kitchen an update. I hope I'm not being insulting. There is too much "stuff" all over. Storage seems to be an issue. the knobs on the cabinets could be changed. there is no conformity in the cabinets so unifying the colour is a way to achieve this. the windows could be addressed as well. An indoor outdoor rug could be added to hide some of the multitude of lines that are prevalent. Backsplash is the last item I'd think about but first tidying up the "lines".

I agree with the first comment. A nice earth toned glass tile would tie in with the granite and warm tones of the cabinets. You could even go with a mosaic that mixes natural stone and glass to add more interest.

I guess I should have placed the after photo first, the green and white photo is BEFORE the Reno, I am now looking for advice on the backsplash for the new kitchen. We are in the final stages still, ignore the huge toaster oven....it is going out.

Ah, there it is! Nice reno. Yes, glass perhaps. Add some color, avoid more natural colours or stone. Too much beige and white will render it uninteresting. Bring home some samples from a store view them in the day and night, do you have under cabinet lighting? This could help tremendously.

Oh, and my last comment as I go to have breakfast, don't do large format tile......mosaics for sure. I was an Ann Sacks Tile showroom manager, so this is my best suggestion for what it's worth. Definitely, take home samples and consider lighting.

Under cabinet lighting is still in the box! Hoping it gets installed this week. Just got the sink and dishwasher connected today. Starting to put stuff away finally with a goal of very little on the counters.

Great! I am still wondering if trying an indoor/outdoor rug (something that can take spills) could benefit the kitchen by adding some pattern and texture. I've lived with rugs in my kitchens for years and love it! I'm not particularly messy, don't have kids! You could perhaps take a couple home to try and see what you think. Obviously, depends on your family and their habits. Otherwise, a cool runner in front of the sink could suffice. Good for you for getting braving a kitchen reno! Some small topiaries in pots across the window sill add some greenery?

I know you're looking for ideas... but to be honest I really like how it looks right now.

I think I would just paint the walls a deep grey and for a bit of interest, add stainless steel subway tiles behind the stove. Then add a jute rug (which will also protect your floors) and a roman blind on the window. houzz=];houzz=];[houzz=];

I like your finishes and your nice granite -- would keep the backsplash simple, especially since you've already sent the granite partly up the wall, where more pattern would clash. Would recommend a white or cream subway tile, simple stuff, to let the rest show. Another possibility would be white/clear glass mosaic that brings in texture/shine variety without more colors or pattern. But honestly, I'd stay simple -- I guess that puts me mostly in the "like how it looks now" category too...

This is what I have and I think it would like nice with your counter tops and cabinets as well.

Thanks for the comments and advice. No rugs, we have a dog and that would just attract dog hair. This floor is easy to keep clean. The window faces out to our woods, so I have no need for blinds and am thinking of keeping it open. I do have a beautiful canvas framed photo a friend took for us and mounted that will go over the window to add some color. Trying to attach a picture of theist urge. I think cream subway tile may be the way to go.

I like light blue mosaic tiles or light blue glass splash back. Really like the update! It could be just the photo but it looks a bit dark in there. You still need a backsplash which will give your kitchen a bit of light sparkle & pizzaz!
