I'm having Venetian Gold granite installed in my kitchen for the first time and it has been somewhat of a nightmare. Installer has mis-measured multiple times and has had to recut all slabs, except for one, for the entire kitchen 3 different times. We are on the third cut now and just when they seem to have gotten the measurements right, a new issue has emerged. I need some feedback here. The color of the edge of the granite slabs do not match up at the seam. This has not been installed yet because I'm not happy with it, especially in light of all the other mistakes (I will spare you the details). Am I overreacting or is the edge just a completely different shade? Shouldn't the color of the edge at least flow from one slab to the other, even if it's not a perfect match? One of the main reasons I am so unhappy with this particular issue is because the original granite countertop (which is about 9 feet long and includes the sink; we have a small kitchen) was laid out on one single slab so that the movement flowed from one end to the next. We viewed and approved the original slab. But due to the measuring errors of the installer, multiple cuts had to be made, and after 4 weeks....yes, 4 weeks...here we are. Still don't have a completed kitchen. I feel I should not have to live with this color mismatch due to their mistakes. This "final product" is not what we approved and they are trying to say it's just due to the "nature of the stone." I don't buy that. The flow and look of the original cut was perfect and beautiful but the measurements were so far off they had to redo it completely. Now the mismatch is just the nature of the stone? Thoughts?
