I'm sorry I am not sure what you are asking. Are you wanting to hang two platters on the wall, one above the other? Like these are in the photo?

If so you just need the plate hangers which can be purchased at most any craft store.

Good luck!

Hi, thanks for replying but no, not one above the other. Imagine putting the large platter on a table, then putting the smaller platter on top of the large one. Now rotate them together so they are vertical, that's how I want to hang them -- one in front of the other. China putty won't hold them together, apparently it's only good horizontally. I don't want to hot glue them together.

Got it.

Yes you would need some kind of special plate hanger. I've never run across anything like that.

You could do a narrow plate shelf, and then put one in front of the other that way. This one is from Ebay.

Yes, (duh!) a narrow shelf would work. Thanks for the idea. My "personal handyman" is planning it out now. When it's done, I'll post a picture, hopefully less fuzzy than the previous one.

Hang them vertically but let them both show, fully. Like jn's picture.

Thanks for taking the time to respond, but I don't want to do that. Only one wall is papered and I don't want to obscure that much of it. Also, the centers of the platters are plain white, which is way too much for my taste. By placing one in front of the other, I reduce the amount of white quite a bit and the footprint on the wall.

You may be going for too much -- possibly over thinking this small detail.

Hi jn3344. Here's a photo of the accomplished "hanging." It doesn't show in the photo, but the platters are leaning back at an angle to keep them in place, and I'm going to get some Quakehold putty for insurance. I'm considering maybe adding trim to the edge of the shelf it looks a little blah to me. The devil's in the details, as they say, but it makes me happy to have these mementos of my grandmother on view. Thanks again for your idea, it was just right.
