We were not given the option to specify matching or non matching. I have sent images to the cabinet company and I am waiting to see what can be done to make the cabinets flow better!

Very cool wood! I think if the pattern is just a little off, it looks like it was intended to match up and failed. On the other hand, if it is way off, it looks like an intentional patchwork pattern. The mismatched appearance is not as serene and sophisticated, but I actually like it. Just depends on what you like as well as what you specified in your order.

@lisarogers Curious as to what you decided and how the cabinets turned out.

The cabinet people are going to replace the fronts with rift cut white oak/horizontal. They did not feel they could fix the flow of the kitchen by switching out some of the doors. Glad it is worked out!

Whew! This grain seems so nice, but the total effect was psychedelic. Glad they were willing/able to make it right.

I will definitely post a picture of the new wood. Very thankful the cabinet people stood behind their product! Not sure what I would have done!
