I love how the extended drapes create a full wall of windows and lush fabric.

Thank you everyone for the great feedback!!
@lari_iler- There is actually chocolates in the lowest glass bowl! haha
@Colleen Knecht The wall accent wall color is Behr Fashion Gray PPU18-15 and the rest of the walls are in Behr Burnished Clay PPU18-9
A couple people mentioned the nightstands: These are actually intended to be media consoles. The nightstands that came with this set were just itty bitty things. This room is so large that I felt that scale would be off if I used small nightstands. I love the look of it!
@emjfla This room is approximately 14ft x 20ft. You enter from double doors that are at an angle so There is some extra space there. I will add more photos looking from the opposite direction.

Beautiful room. It looks like you decided to replace the one smaller window with a larger (or several larger) windows. Great choice.

Looking back at the pictures now, perhaps it is just the angle of the "after" photo as compared to the "before"? I'm not sure. I love that you hung the window treatments out and above the windows. Too many people think they are supposed to hang them on the window frame instead.

The before pic is definitely a little closer than the after but I do have to say taking the window treatments all the way to the ceiling, getting larger nightstands, getting a bed frame and headboard that doesn't take up as much space and replacing the cal king mattress with a standard king mattress also made the room much more spacious!

Way too much furniture packed in to the space. Why the use of sheers, it looks grandma-ish and not contemporary at all! Less is more is my philosophy! Allover nice color theme.

Lol thank you for your input. However I would find it difficult to consider the style of the room "grandma" considering I am 25 years old. It's a contemporary style, not minimal and modern. I could also show a number of minimal, modern and contemporary rooms that have the use of sheers. Less is more is a great philosophy but doesn't work for every client.

Well I absolutely DON'T think that your window treatments are "grandma-ish". They are quite up-to-date with using grommets, etc. and they are lovely. I think placing them the height you did is just perfect. It frames and showcases the room well. I really like the use of your media consoles as nightstands -- I might just have to use that idea myself, but I could never keep chocolates in that bowl . . . especially dark chocolates. I'd be eating them incessantly!

The grandma-ish comment is referring to the sheers if you look back, and ONLY to the sheers:)

I love what you did with the window treatments. Oversized window treatments trick the eye into thinking that you have a wall full of windows. Great idea!!

As a quick follow-up . . . I just bought sheers for several rooms in my new house that I get to go see next week!

I love the room and am wanting to brighten up our master... thanks for the measurements, now I can better see (in my minds eye) how a similar set up will work in our room.

Love , love the room . It is very similar to my master bedroom. Love the size of the bedside tables, love the lamps . I have a two seater sofa with a ottoman as well at the bottom of my king bed . Taking the drapes up to the height of the ceiling is one idea I would take away to add to my bedroom for sure to

I remember seeing this room! I probably made some comments too. Did you take any advice and did you have any assistance or was it all your own Kama and elbow grease? What did you do and what did you buy? If I might ask. It inspires me to see what I can do on my own. Thanks!

Soosun2- I am an interior designer and this was a room I did for a client. It was definitely a labor of love as I did everything from picking every single item in the room, painted and hung all pictures and draperies myself.

Excellent! Did you make the currtains too? If one does make curtains do they have to be lined? Thinking of making my own panels......?
