They are elegant, they can be made to fit into even the arched windows, they can be made with a decorative frame to give you some trim around the windows, they provide privacy as well as light control, and they usually increase the resale value of the home.

I have the same windows in my home. I did 2 inch white wood blinds inside mounted on each window. In the master I added side panels. In the kitchen I did faux roman shades.

with that deep of a recession almost anything can be used

I think plantation shutters would add elegance to your home and not distract form the clean lines of your beautiful home.

There is virtually nothing you can's do with these windows. Personally I find plantation shutters cold. If you go with shutters I suggest full panelled or cutwork shutters. Relaxed or regular Roman shades would work nicely in your public rooms. Semi sheer cafe curtains would give you light and a degree of privacy in your kitchen/breakfast room. For you bedroom I suggest full on draperies which can be pulled or tied between the windows. In the sitting area I'd leave the arched portion naked and do cafe

, Austrian shades or Romans on the lower portion unless the light from the arch is a problem. Another solution where privacy is not a big concern is stencilled windows in a lacy or geometric pattern. They can be stencilled with a removable spray if desired
