I couldn't agree with you more! I think attention to details like this are what sets a house apart from all the others. Cold air returns and registers are just as offensive to the eye as well. I'll be checking up on this thread from time to time...

Yes, the cold air returns and registers will also be dealt with……they're pretty awful.

My house is mostly white so the standard outlets don't bother me, but I see it clearly on yours. We did add motion sensor switches, which I know a lot of people don't like. We customized the registers downstairs, some linear and some Reggio. Making these changes add that custom feature, my builder told me. And I love your kitchen so far!!!!

Yeah, white outlets on white walls aren't generally a problem, but I think in the entire house we have only one white room (and one white wall in the room photo above).

This entire house is custom. The plans were drawn up by me and all items except for a few were personally chosen by us. We elected to not worry about the outlets/switches and returns/vents until after the building was complete because we didn't want to put building schedule behind any further. We've discovered that, despite his assurances, our builder is "customish" rather than "custom" so we have been trying to make things easier where we can (causes fewer mistakes when his contractors can work "business as usual") and changing these outlets/switches later is one of those things we can do to make things go a bit more smoothly.

I recognize this post as 5 years old but just curious...how were you going to add lights/plugs under the cabinets when there aren't any cabinets on the green wall? Were you adding cabinets? Did you end up using Adorne system and do you think it is worth the $$?
