Holy cow that's a range! Yeah, new is $19K US. I think if you have the lifestyle for which it is intended (I guess continuously cooking things) then keep it! But as feeny says, if it's not you then get what you really want.

Honestly I would have the same dilemma. Fabulous piece, but almost a burden if it somehow ends up in your lap.Good luck!

I'm ripping out a black version of this next week. New homeowner doesn't want a stove that is always on- in savannah! Never mind the TINY ovens.

So if anyone wants a black model let me know!

A dilemma! Still on the fence.....
The ovens aren't that small....very deep and have had no problems with any pot I've used. Usually two pots can fit in each oven.
I do have a problem with the energy waste of it. And the heat in the summer......

HI -- They are a bit of a status symbol but do not work in some homes or countries . They should sell well . I think I would rather have an induction stove -- it is the way of the future .

Beautiful AGA! I had one like it..once. Unfortunately we sold the house and the Aga stayed. I still miss it. I have seen kitchens with
both an Aga and extra gas burners, say in an island.
I've had expensive stoves but nothing has ever compared to an
Aga (and the food cooked in it!)

This is a beautiful range! One of our customers has the exact same dilemma with their AGA. Too expensive to run all-year long, and too much heat in the summer. They do however appreciate the heat in the wet, cold Eastern Canadian winter!
They are considering a Lacanche range to replace it, as you can just turn it on when you need it.

Good luck with your decision! If you do decide to sell it, I'm sure there will be a lot of interest!

Have one and love it - grew up with it in Ireland. Now live in Oregon but cannot find someone to service it, so may have to part with it, although it will break my heart.

Keep it! I just got one, and I adore it. They cook like a dream, although I have to admit that there was a bit of a learning curve. And they are gorgeous.

I'm jealous! Always wanted one!

Beautiful. Is there no way to have a valve installed to turn off the pilot? Our grill is piped to our gas line and underneath my husband installed a valve on a timer, so when we cook we can set it for up to several hours and then it shuts off automatically.

i have one in my dollshouse, the cook raves about it. although it's not connected you can see the awesome output of baked goods she achieves.

seriously, i feel your painful indecision. they have such romance to me, being a big fan of rosamunde pilcher's early books, but in the end it has to work for you.

We have an Aga in eastern Ontario, and I would never be without one again.

Those who diss them do so cluelessly, and have never lived with one, or never learned how to really use them well.

Those who have them and know how to use them, will never go back to a plain stove!

As of spring 2015, the standard on all the time Aga is being phased out (although there will always be used ones available), and replaced by a Dual Control (Not the disastrous Total Control), which can be on all the time, or on when needed, making it substantially cheaper to run. See their (crappy) website for info.

@Sylvia - you can get your Aga serviced, it's just a struggle to find someone good, and/or local. Try the good people at Bellevie in Canada. If they can't service it, they may know someone who can. If it's just the burner, then any certified gas fitter can work on it.

I purchased a home in Columbia SC and was not sure of this animal, I first planned to replace it after reading around the high gas bills, excessive heat in summer, and small ovens. Now 3 years later I don't think I would want anything else. The gas bill is nothing high, I did a test to see what the monthly consumption is and its about 38 buck a month so no issue there, the heat in the winter is great just a nice warm kitchen but never hot, I would say the 1st summer it was more heat than I wanted and turned it off but later I read an article about reducing the heat down to where the 400 degree over was closer to 325 and that is what I have done since and no heat issues in the summer. Oven size is no issue at all, very deep and holds multiple slide in racks per oven. So if you have one and not sure my tip is keep it and see what you think, its a high end expensive cooker that most people fall in love with for a reason.
