Hardwood floor finish

Did you use a non-yellowing clear coat on the hardwood floors? Are they white oak? Thanks!

White Oak floors with a water based/clear polyurethane will give you this look. Ask your flooring finisher to make a sample for you. Keep in mind you will need a high grade Oak to have a floor with little to no knots like this.

Oak & Broad, are you still there? You have been so helpful in my selection of my White Oak floors 5" and we are getting a water based/clear, but I wonder on the sheen? My flooring guy says Satin is good, but I don't want it too shiny. Would you suggest Satin or Matte or somewhere in between?

Hi! Satin and matte are both very popular. I would have your flooring finisher make a few samples of both. They are both good options.
