I can look at the blinds and see what I can find. I will look for a printed fabric in the teal. Yes that would like good to trim the pillows. So what should I put over the dresser. I'm feeling that even though the headboard is big should something go above it?

The blinds can be expensive, and you said you have an upcoming kitchen reno, so sheers would work for time being.
The mirror you had over the dresser was too large, do you have a smaller one somewhere? A set of three pics would look good over headboard, just not sure what colour.
Found some pillows on bedbathandbeyond.ca that may work.

The bottom of the vase looks like it matches the bases of your lamps. As mentioned above put the large picture on the wall at the bottom of the bed with a wall sconce on either side of it.

Like the idea of the dresser painted black. Just center it on that wall space. No to the large mirror or any mirror above it (already a mirror on that wall). Maybe an arrangement of the smaller frames (4). If you are still using the dresser as a make up station you could simply have a good sized mirror on a pedestal stashed in the top drawer with your supplies.
The teal bowl would also look nice on the dresser & used as a drop off station for jewellery/watches( his & hers).

Should I centre the big picture in the middle of the wall or the centre of the bed , how high and also how high should the wall scones be.
With the 4 pics above the dresser how should they be placed , how far away from each other.
The bowl will be to big for the dresser, is there a place to hang it. Would the 8 x10 frame be to small above the bed?

@poorgirl, I'm glad you like them. I had the same experience with them at xmas, couldn't find something in store, but could on line.

I would centre the picture with the bed as the bed is not centred on the wall where the head of the bed is. The centre of the picture should be at eye level when standing, no higher as the most of the time when viewing the picture you will be lying in bed.
I would hang the sconces with their centres at eye level also. Just tack them with a very small nail too see what you think about 3 inches away from the edge of the picture.
As for the pics above the dresser (not sure how wide the dresser is) ..the arrangement should be about two thirds the width of the dresser.I usually place them about the width of outer wood of the frame(one side only) apart .. ex: 2 inches. Again the arrangement could be at eye level depending on the height of the dresser.

I seen this and I'm not sure, usually don't like metal art much.. Since you have art in other areas, how about something like this above the bed placed horizontally. They are black with capiz shell, 42x14.

Hi everyone it's been a busy week, here is the Pic of the painted dresser, with the small frames I have . The dresser is 42" wide 30" high.
The frames are 8 x 10 or I have the large frames that were above the bed. Could anyone please tell me how many should be hung and at what height and spacing.
The framing is also on the window so I'm ready to hang the drapes.
Should I hang them as high as I can. I found 6 panels of the same drape that is really nice.
I'm still finding the space above the bed empty, could I put 2 of the original large frames above it. If so should the be spaced in the middle of the bed.
I found the small pillow that MarleneM recommended and will buy it.

Poorgirl I was in CT over the weekend visiting my parents and my friend took me to a Home Goods store and they have your teal color in pillows everywhere!! I thought about you and wanted to tell you, funny I don't even know who you are but when I saw the color it made sense. Don't know if you have them but apparently they are usually with a TJ MAX store. Good luck!

Your dresser looks great! For the frames, I think either could work. Do you have 4 of each? Hang them so the middle of the grouping is about 50-55 in off floor, and keep a space between them that's the same width as frames.
For over the bed ones, can you change mats? Just thought they seemed so dark.

Hi everyone, so here are the pics with the drapes (not hemmed). , the large picture(57" is the middle) and 2 different throws. I'm liking the patterned on as I feel it's softer looking than the solid one.
Don't have any pillows yet.

Poorgirl, you've made some awesome progress in your room. I prefer the solid throw at the end of the bed. The plaid one seems too country to my eye. Also, could you use the dresser as one of the bedside tables? Then add a comfy chair, ottoman and floor lamp in that corner? I actually really like your teal carpet and love the colors you've chosen!

I don't know why I didn't think of this before, but check out etsy.com or eBay. Do a search for teal home decor. Etsy is a great place for pillows and pillow covers and art. Did a quick search and you can get small art prints and pillows covers for about $20. eBay is a great place to look for fabric too.

Ok so no to the plaid ? I have checked but all these sites are in the USA. To much to get it up to canada especially when I don't know if it will work.

Should I bring the drapes over another 6" on each side. I left while my husband put the rod up , I wanted it more on each side.
I have to take the drapes down to hem so he can move the rod.

Agree, no to the plaid. So hard to wait for the spring restock! I am also in Canada. Wait until you can have a selection to chose the pillows & throw together. That way you can mixed more colors , patterns & textures together.

Yes, bring the drapes over to each side. Looks like they are quite full. This will allow moe if the window to be shown & more light.

Good points poorgirl about ordering online. I too am in Canada in quite a rural area so I don't have many choices, and order online. You can narrow searches to items in Canada, that's always my first choice. But I've been there, as I'm sure we all have, looking for something specific, and can't it find anywhere. Frustrating! Maybe there will be more out in spring, or you'll find something when not looking.

Ok, here it is, it hadn't changed much since everyone's help. The plant is just being stored there since I have our old fridge in my living room . I found my pillow for $7.00. And I cut the teal blanket and sewed it dew it would go right across the bed. I'm taking the light fixture from the other room and putting it in this room. Pic. Is below . I'm still looking for something to go above the bed , and the drapes still have to move over on the left side to balance that wall.

I also need 4 pictures in my frames that I haven't found yet along with end tables and new table lamps. I think my 4 pics are to far apart.

I love my new look and it looks like the carpet should be there now.

I think you're done! If you still have the plaid throw, toss it over the foot or head of the bed at an angle-- will soften the look. Nice job!

Good find on the bargain pillow! The throw (love the pattern) & pillow certainly do "make the rug belong".

Pictures are definitely not too far apart .. seem a bit too close & a bit too much room between the dresser & pics. Have you tried hanging the pics vertically? Might suggest some floral or leaf prints to go with the floral pillow .. but not necessarily all blue flowers .. just a hint of blue.

The bedroom is working great, since I have changed it I have not done anything else to it other than move the drape over so that they were even.

Its so much better going into the room. I put my makeup on at the dresser, I have a box inside the dresser where all my make up is stored so its not on the dresser top.

I can change the bedding to white in the summer and have the same pillow and throw on the bed. As you know, I only did this because we were not pulling the carpet or repainting. I have friends that come into the house and actually think this is a color palette done on purpose.

I cant take the credit for this one , as you know it takes a village to raise a child well it takes the input of Houzz to create a great room!!

Hi everyone, my bedroom has worked out great, and everyone was such wonderful help but...now we are ready to sell our house, and redo the bedroom for selling.
We are planning on pulling up the carpet and laying new carpet ,painting the walls, new light fixture, changing the black receptacles to white, and new bedding, drapes if need be.
The house is in the beige taupe neutrals, I am open to all suggestions so I was wondering if anyone could suggest where to start , we have lots to do and this is the biggest roon that needs a full make over.

Why bother to do all that if you are selling.

Every other room in the house has been finished other then this one. We are able to finish it ourselves and for what we invest in this room we will get it out in selling .
We were looking to have our house in move in condition with no major renovations to be done. We had a real estate agent in 2 years ago and his comment was to have everything done that most people couldn't do themselves with out hiring.
