Hi all,

I am new to container gardening and so far I have done alright with smaller pots and plants. I am starting this year with large pots and roses. I feel dumb about this, but when I read that I need a 20 gal pot, I don't know what they mean. I bought new pots but the label says 18 inch diamater, 14.4 inches high. If I need to know how many gallons this is, do I have to measure gallons of water into it? To further confuse me, my potting soil bags say I have 16 dry quarts, does that mean I have 4 gallons? Somehting tells me I am making too much of this, but I would love to do something right for a change!
