I love the stripes! I think that a mirror will look beautiful and add a lot:

I also have a very long wall in my dining room....I was lucky enough to find a huge hutch that takes up a lot of the wall. I like the mirror idea mentioned above, I think it would look really good. As far as your colors, seems like everything in pretty neutral so you could probably do almost any color with it.

With the exception of the organic pattern in your drapes, you have chosen strongly linear elements in a rectangular room. To add visual interest, sense of layering and balance/harmony, you will need to add some rounder shapes. An interesting variety of round or oval mirrors in a well-balanced arrangement on the striped wall could add some sparkle. Plants that have interesting arched leaves or dried plants that have some movement and texture could add the detail this room needs.

I like the stripes. I think the round wall mirror would be a fantastic addition. I would consider a new ceiling light - something a bit larger to balance with the large patterns in the room. This one looks a bit drowned out. Great color combinations!

I like the idea of adding a variety of round mirrors. The room tends to be a bit dark and that could help bring in light. Thanks Megan for the suggestion to add a new light. I agree, a larger fixture would help balance the large scale patterns.

Wow, I LOVE your stripes and the different patterns going on. I think the mirror idea is great, I would advocate a rectangle with perhaps a lacquer frame, or maybe black. I would not over-accessorize this room. You have a lot going on through print and pattern, and the jar you have is perfect. I think I'd keep it to black and white accessories, perhaps with a bit of glass.

I love the room! How about some sparkle with a chandelier. Or maybe a buffet table with pretty crystal candle sticks for extra light.

Denni, I'm one step ahead of you. I just added a narrow console with a glass top. I've yet to accessorize, but it's coming along.
