The bushes look a lot like currant or josta (cross of black currant and gooseberry). Judging by how long the sprigs are, I would guess red or white currant. When you get first leaves, rub them and smell - black currant has a very distinct strong musky smell. Currant is tart but really good out of hand if fully ripe. It's very good for drinks and jelly too, but mine never lasted that far - kids strip them clean. Not sure what the green stuff is, looks almost like some kind of moss. Maybe somebody else will chime in on that one.

The bush is a current bush, most likely Ribes sativum (red, pink, or white). It looks old and in need of a good renewal pruning (if you don't know what else to do, cut the ENTIRE thing off to about 4 inches from the ground, you will sacrifice this year's harvest, but it will back even better. Or, if you can tell, selectively remove the old canes plus anything weak, broken, diseased, etc.).

The little green sprouts are horseradish just beginning to emerge from the ground for the year.
