sweet potato ph

I wonder if any of you sweet potato experts can tell me about how much soil acidity they will tolerate. I am going in a big way for sweet potatoes this year, and will likely run out of places to put them. I have a new plot freshly converted from brush and small trees this spring. I know the soil is quite acid because potatoes, tomatoes, and blueberries are doing good in it, while one squash plant in it has dwarfed. The plant is growing slightly though, and is not yellow, so I guesstimate the ph to be around 5, maybe a squinch lower.

I read that sweet potato will tolerate some acidity, but will it tolerate as much as solanacae?
