calling potato biners progress.

How is it going for you all? I was late getting going. Hubby built me 6 of them

Found most of the 2 by 6 ers last year at JUnk pickup.

yesterday found more 2 by 6 and 2 by 4. and even lots of 1 by 12's. Have also lots of oak flooring tongue and grooved type ( junk pickup) find.

I wish I could share some that I found with my fellow gardeners here. It is a shame that so much goes to the landfill

I need to get outside and measure and cut up more of those boards cause my # VARIETIES are growing..... Irish, Kennebuck, Pontiac red are all I could find locally. Since it was so late in season

Are you all having to add any insecticides etc??? which one is safer

Oh I am using a mixture of great garden soil, potting soil, bought composted manure, top soil.

I get the broken bags HALF priced.

Big Box store garden shop workers say"you back for more?"

Unfortunately too the bins are cramped in next to my crowded shallow backyard. Next to blueberries and raspberries. Barely left room to maneuver around bushes . Try not to knock my berries off bushes.

If I can post pics I( will. It is so hard to take pics in crowded conditions. Wish would have grabbed Camera before Hubby and I or I carried back to backyard

We made them sizes to fit the free lumber I had... Most are approx 26 by 36 is the average. Also alphabetized them

Better suck it up a and get out there and measure and cut up more "slats" OH EVEN used pallet wood for some of the slats. Doubled up on them some as they are so "thin"

Thanks all

jean
