Peach tree pests

I was inspecting my peach trees this afternoon and found gum (jelly) all around one of them, just below the soil line. I started digging it out and found a couple of different bugs. One is a small centipede I think. It has a hard shell, orange at the front end, grey at the back end. Actually, I found a few of those. The other bug is soft-bodied. I thought it was a peach tree borer larva, but it does not have an orange head. Its entire body is clearish gray. The head has a smaller diameter than the rest of the body. I dug out as much of the gum as I could. Should I treat the area with an insecticide or a fungicide? I did not treat for peach tree borer last summer. The tree is four years old and produced an excellent crop last summer
