Where do you guys buy your seeds?

I buy most veggie seeds from Southern States Cooperative. Some veggies I mail order from several sources and most perennials I get from Thompson & Morgan online. Now and then I get suckered in and buy a few off brand packets from some other local stores but I've found the quantity of seeds is often very small. I've never had a problem with germination of seeds if the packet was labeled for the current year. Older seeds may have been stored in less than ideal conditions and may not be of good quality.

Where do I start?!! Try some of these. Seed Savers Exchange, Baker Creek Heirloom Seeds, John Scheepers Kitchen Garden Seeds, Seeds of Change and www.artisticgardens.com Enjoy!

I get most of my seeds from Pine Tree Seeds (superseeds.com) and have never been disappointed in the germination. Their packages are appropriately sized for the home gardener, and they have varieties I've found no where else. If I need a large amount of seeds (e.g. corn and peas for freezing), I get them from our local feed store, that sells by the ounce or 1/4 pound.

I just bought a bunch from Seeds of Change online but they are a bit too expensive to recommend unless you're looking for a particular type.

Fedco has the best prices and highest quality.

My average price is about $1 a package with free shipping over $30 which I always hit. This place is a treasure mine. I think Fedco is basically run as a non profit by farmers for farmers. very professional but I think they might shut down for the summer maybe. They are set up for selling to the farmer in the winter spring and then take a vacation. not sure however, I never ordered in the summer.

I also really like SandHill Preservation. I purchase a lot from them also.

Here is a link that might be useful: fedco catalog

Jung seeds, Johnny's seeds, Seed Savers Exchange, Totally Tomatoes*, Tomato Growers Supply, Pepper Gal, Vermont Bean*, Southern Exposure Seed Savers
    *Part of Jung

I've been buying from all these with good results. Careful with ordering from too many as shipping costs will mount up.

Harris Seeds -Great selection and decent prices for both home growers and commercial growers for vege's, pumpkins, squash, flowers and other novelty seeds.

Sieger Seeds - more for commercial growers but unlimited selection of varieties.

Rupp Seeds - also more for commercial growers and great seed selection. Cheapest seeds and always get very high percentage of germination from seeds.

Do some purchasing from Twilley, Seed Savers, and Baker's Heirloom Seeds also
