I don't have the first clue. Never had that situation. I have gotten nubbins when the corn has been stressed by drought or planted too thick, but the silks always appear. I have had Japanese beetles cut the silks killing the ears chamce to pollinate, but I can't remember a no show.

If its any consolation, I'm dealing with the same situation. I've only grown corn once before, it was a different variety than whats planted now, but although I see the top tassle, I see no evidence of any ears forming at all. I may have planted it too closely together, not sure on that though. Hopefully someone will come along with an answer for both of us, :)

The first block of corn I planted I messed up and planted each plant a inch apart in the front of the 1st bed they are all crowded together (only about 8 plants) and they are doing great, silking, tassling and the ears are getting big. the others that I planted about 4 inches apart are doing ok but not as big as the ones I supposely mess up on, but they are tasseling and silking they are just not as tall. Go figure lol
