Can you attach some floor plans to give us more to work off of? I know some houses that have this set up but walls, partitions, pillars, bulkheads can go a long way in 'defining' a space to make it flow. We just designed and built a 5500 sq ft house. VERY overwhelming picking things out, going to five different stores for one product, etc etc. But this site was amazing, people are very helpful. Also start buying magazines to identify your 'style' and use tear sheets to take along when you are going for lighting, paint, tiles, granite, etc etc.

I agree a floor plan will definitely help, just be sure it is in 'jpeg' file before attaching.
