How did you get rid of the bats? I'm curious.

Old guano can be pretty dangerous.

The bat guano that sells in the stores is harvested from caves. Inside the caves there live the equivalent of dung beetles which process the guano completely before it is harvested. What you are buying is more like insect guano than bat guano. When mammal dung is processed through species from such a different species, like a worm or an insect, usually all the pathogens are eliminated and only beneficial microbes remain.

What you have from the attic is pure bat guano. I believe all that is good for is the compost pile.

Exactly what I was thinking, dchall. Attic harvested guano is not a good thing to be selling.

Put out an ad on the LOCAL craigslist and you may find someone willing to take it off your hands for free.

Otherwise you are going to have to pay dump fees to get rid of it.

Even though, as Dave pointed out, the bat guano sold commercially is harvested from caves where it is processed by insects those that do that harvesting are subject to severe respiratory diseases. So I would hope that in harvesting this from that attic the people that did wore good and proper respiratory protection and if you do sell it you should advise anyone that might purchase some that handling it should be done only with good respiratory protection.
