My shasta daisies are too short!

My shastas ("Alaska") won't grow more than 2 or 3 inches tall-having stems not more than an inch is not out of character for them.

They are lovely green, healthy looking, just - squashed.

They get full sun, well drained soil, and regular deep watering. I give them miraclegro once or twice a season, but other than that, no food (partially because I'm not sure what else to give them?)

Soil pH is 6.5ish, and rather hard (not loose by any stretch).

Any suggestions/ideas as to how to help?

Thank you!
