I can think of a couple of cliches "you can lead a horse to water...". Lucky for both of you, Onan parts are quite pricey.

I seen where the drain was plugged up with slug and the oil wouldn't drain. I just can't understand why people don't have the simple sence to check oil. I can somewhat understand how lazy some can be by not changing it, but you would at least think the would have enough sence to check it and keep it full.

But, on the other hand if everybody did that I wouldn't find the excellent curb finds and repair shops would be asking for tarp money!

I had guy up the street wine about how expensive his lawn mower was to repair. I had talked to him about his lack of pre-ventive maintenance before, so I wasn't in the mood to listen. I simply said well, if you would of at least checked the oil every two years and made an effort to cover it up they might just last longer than 3 or 4 years.

The owner of the mower is my vendor. If anybody should know about oil, it would be him, but his son does the cutting.

I fixed the clutch switch. Must have taken over an hour to get to the switch and then you need a child's hand to even reach the switch.

Another problem now I just discovered. The right motor mount was broken completely at the weld and it's hanging off the frame. All the torque is on the left mount and the top of the motor moves over an inch. Starting and shutdown really shake the motor. The only way to fix it is to pull the motor which should be easier than the cast iron Kohler I pulled a few weeks ago.

After getting two free lawn tractors in a week, a friend stopped and asked me if i take old lawn tractors. So, of course, i told him. He told me where to find his old one, so i got it home, and looked it over.
Wow!! What an expensive piece of crapola! He had neglected a nice tractor, and ran it into the ground, so to say!
I brought it home, for parts. Engine laying on the frame! One bolt holding it on! Hood hinge broken off hood. looks nasty. But, tires all hold air! Has the grass catcher and stuff on the back. He sez tranny is ok, although i sort of doubt it. Deck looks like it might be fair. Well, free is free. can't complain. Parts is parts.
Might be a surprise, or a wolf in sheeps clothing, a pig in a poke, whatever! It is so ugly, i covered it up with a tarp!
