Shindaiwa T222 brush attachments?

I have a Shindaiwa T222 trimmer with a speed-feed trimmer plastic spool head on it. I want to cut down some taller, thicker, stuff that the regular trimmer can't handle (gets clogged) - not saplings or anything, just tall rugged weeds - nothing more than 1/2inch thick.

I called my local Shindaiwa dealer and they said that I could use one of the 3 or 4 pronged "tall grass blades" - not a saw blade, of course - but then they told me that their system wasn't showing any existence of the special nuts/bolts to hold those blades on, so they advised me not to do it, although mentioned that I could probable finagle something if I wanted to.

Is this something I should mess around with on my own - or will it result in a dangerous situation? I also don't want to blow up my machine...

thanks in advance.
