Brush them constantly and sweep/mop constantly. . . We've had goldens for years - it's a trade off we make, and live with the hair floating in the house constantly. :( My inlaws who raised and showed goldens for years, will dog sit at our house, but won't allow the dog in theirs for the same [hairy] reason. I recently purchased Shark Navigator cordless vac.Love it Our yellow lab passed away several years ago and I wish I would have had it then. The thing I love about it is that it will vac floors and carpet equally. The battery lasts a very long time. I had a Swiffer Sweep 'n Vac, but the battery only lasted a short while and the entire unit bit the dust within a year. I feel your pain! We have two aussies, who don't shed quite as much as goldens, but they certainly do their fair share of creating dust bunnies on our wood floors. We just wander around with a swiffer in between weekly vacuumings, but I'm intrigued by the idea that a Roomba might be good for dog hair. I've also wondered about those really fine toothed rubber hair rakes they use at beauty salons, but haven't been able to find one to try out. Will be interested in hearing others' solutions.

Dry microfiber dustmop. Quick, easy, no electricity/cords/batteries, just toss in the washer as needed. Not all dog lovers realize just how much fur their old carpet was holding :)

Brush the dogs frequently, bathe/condition occasionally, and ensure they're getting a quality diet (not stepping into the dog-food food-fight here, but better food generally makes for better coats).
