With a tv above the fireplace where would the cable box and dvd players be placed?

    Everything is stored in the mechanical room and operated through a home automation system, the one we use is called Elan.

    Hi Sheriag,

    Unfortunately, there's no perfect answer to that question. It's more a question of viewing angle than viewing height. I wouldn't recommend more than 15 to 20 degrees above horizontal. Otherwise, you get a lot of neck strain when watching TV for long periods of time.

    In general, if you are putting a TV above the fireplace, the lower you can put it, the better the viewing angle will be.
