Hang some art work and I would go with a longer dresser if that would be in the budget that one looks a little lost on that wall. Some pics of the rest of the room would help too. Take the little lamp away

Full length mirror (wood frame) hanging to the left, bookshelf to the right, and artwork (something with some white in it) above the dresser.

Add a sitting chair with a small side table. And either buy a large print or make your own to fill the wall. I would also recommend getting a larger lamp, something with height to help proportion out the wall. Another option is a gallery wall, find your favorite pictures and have them displayed

This is a very beautiful room with a lot of potential but the dresser is too small for that big wall. I'll suggest a longer dresser with a big mirror or art on top. If you keep the dresser I would add some seating area around it. I would use a different lamp and a vase or plant to decorate it.

Thank you for the suggestions. I really need to try and make this dresser work as it's an expensive, solid cherry piece. Yes -- the lamp will definitely go in a different room. I would for sure like to introduce some white to the room as the all the furniture and the rug is dark.

I am currently making some lined and interlined roman shades for the windows and ripplefold panels for the doors (I am a professional seamstress). They will be in cream with a taupe contrast band along the bottom edge.

The room is just uselessly large, I'm really struggling with how to decorate it. Here are some additional photos of the room. I'd like to switch out all the lighting and add wall decor throughout. Thanks for your comments so far.

I agree with Grover...this room is huge, and you will definitely need a place to perch as you pull on your socks. Surely there's someplace else in your house to put the tiny dresser. That wall is begging for something substantial in the way of dresser or armoire. I like "tall"

Frames, mirrors, artwork are some ideas to hang.

I love your solid cherry dressers and I think if you add some height it will help pull the room into proportion. Also from seeing your whole room you could add a seating area around your dresser with a nice sized ottoman between the chairs.

I would swap the dressers. The eight drawer dresser should go under the sconces and add a big mirror in the middle and the tiny dresser should go where the other one was with two chairs on either side.

An asymmetrical arrangement with a chair and room for your walker to the left of the dresser. Never hurts to be prepared.

A nice comfy settee or chair would be great especially if you have kids. They always seem to gravitate to mom's room, particularly if they are not feeling well or they want to be near you. My kids have always hung out in our (much smaller) bedroom, whether it's on the bed, floor or chair.
