try simplifying. Left side all red and orange ceramics. Right side green and purple. Center neutral and uncluttered. Remove items from top. Keep in mind that you do not need to display each and every piece you own. Enjoy!

I have Fiestaware in 4 colors that I love to mix and match and although your dishes are bright and cheerful, the multiple color variations don't display well together. Choose your favorite color combination and display just those pieces. I happen to like the way the plum and lime go together. In this example the hutch is beautifully organized and layered but the colorways are limited to cream and brown. You might even consider changing your display with the seasons...red and blue for summer, terra cotta and cream for fall etc.

Display beautiful China that you have in the Centre , Dry fruit jars , Cookie Jars , Pickle Jars such things can add Appeal to it .

I would paint or paper the backhand display a single color of dishes, white would be best.

I am also a Fiesta collector, but I only display the mini pitchers, and a teapot ,creamer and sugar. I also love the colors, but decided too much of anything makes my shelf display look too busy.

Cut back the display, and switch out colors depending on the season. I also feel there is too much dark wood and /the wall. If the back of the shelves and wall above were lighter the display items would pop. Try adding great frames with family photos in black and white or sepia.
Cover some cook books in neutral covers and stack horizontally. Find interesting items and keep rotating the display to match the mood, holiday or what's plentiful in the garden. Great baskets with fun textures are a good mix in. Find items that reflect your personality. My husband bought me a plaque that says "island Girl" and that is always part of my shelf display! A big initial is always a cool addition too! Good luck, I know your display will be great!

This is a case where you can improve the overall look by what you take out rather than what you put in. I wood display to pieces of your fiestaware in the same color, then include some art, family photos and a coupe things you might need for the table. That's all you need. Hope that helps. Too many colors are going on at once. I like one poster's idea of different colors for the different seasons: Summer, July4th do red, blue with white. Fall, do your purple with some gourds. Winter, mix it up with the lime green with red berries. Spring: do a display with your peach colors.

This can be very fun! Just showing a little of your collection at a time will make it a stand out!

Fill in the rest of the shelves with some live plants, baskets, family photos, etc.

I disagree with almost everyone who has posted. You have a great Fiesta collection and it's a shame to hide parts of it. I'd go stark: put all of the same color on one shelf. For your purple, since you have a lot, go with two shelves. The only exception-I'd keep your pitchers of every different color together. In the middle, maybe on two shelves-similar to how you have it. Spacing is key, and you do need to lose the stereo. On the pitchers, take one (or a few) out every season and place them in the middle of your dining table with flowers in them, or something similar. That Franciscan clock should go on the wall somewhere; here-it's lost. Freeing up some of the shelves could warrant some different collections, like someone suggested fruit jars, or something else you have several of?

I would like to know what you had envisioned and what the result is that you don't like. Perhaps if we can understand your original vision we might be able to help in some constructive manner, while using your Fiesta ware. BTW, I've not seen much gray. Is this more difficult to find than other colors? Just curious.

No one noticed but I think those are McDonald pcs on top. I def would limit the pieces on there...highlight some and put rest away. Add in silver picture frames with some pictures and maybe a vase with Flowers in the same colors as the one color u choose to keep in fiesta ware. U have a great collection and maybe use the fiesta pitcher in a bedroom as a flower vase or something different like that...good luck!

All good ideas indeed but It's hard to make a suggestion on what to do with this space without taking the rest of the room into consideration. Fiesta collection is great collection; rich color, nice lines I'm even groovin on the Mc water jars.

If the collection was mine to display, I would do a thin backless case, having the wall done in a bright white and back light the side gables with LED's and use thick glass shelves. For the
base cabinets I would use a three shelve single box on matching block legs.
But of course, this would clash with the existing wood floor. For this current space I say
"Bracket-less shelving; three equal length of the base cabinets. Matching wood tones (perhaps a little lighter than the floor) and for the base cabinets I would install
three full height door cabinets. slab doors. I would use a nice warm granite with an Ogee edge and under light the shelves with an ambient lite. A good handy man can build and stain your shelves. You can purchase the bracket system from Home Depot
or Lowes, The FHD cabinets can come from Kraftmaid, American woodmark or such and as for the granite, I'm not sure where your located but before you spend fifty-sixty or even more per foot for granite, look into your distributor for Asia granite, you'll be surprised at the savings. All of this can be done DIY!

The cabinets themselves keep grabbing my eye. Believe that is a core issue here.
My non permanent suggestion is removable, painted false backs., and either painted shelves, or just turning the shelves around for a painted front edge. The backs can be made of thin luan the size of the back space, and the shelves will hold them up. This simplifies the cabinets to the framing. That way the contents can pop more easily.

The wood is lovely, and I'm sure matches your kitchen, along with the wall color. I would not change either one.

I think the chief issues here are the loaded shelves, and the variability in objects and color tones. I agree with editing, and varying the color combos. The peach and eggplant would be great fall colors. Red and lime would be great for the holidays, unless you like jewel tones (red and eggplant). And blue/lime is great for other times. If you want a wider variability in color, I'd do it on one shelf only, perhaps with the lovely pitchers. However, I'd keep the color tones equal. Squint and see if one or more stand out from the rest. The eggplant is darker than the others and doesn't work in the row. You want the eye to flow across the shelf and the wall unit for that matter, for a cohesive, attractive effect.

You may also want to distribute some Fiestaware elsewhere in your kitchen, and perhaps move some cookbooks here instead? Do like the idea of calm book covers, unless the rest is sufficiently calmed. You can play this by ear, later.

Keeping the eye moving around the entire kitchen/ breakfast room space keeps open, inviting, and interesting. Collections or colors brought throughout the space will do that.
However, disparate objects, such as the speakers, light and other pottery stop the flow. Perhaps the speakers can move to the top of the cabinet (against the wall), and the other pottery be displayed in another space.

Since it's yr breakfast area make it functional for breakfast. A couple of glass pitchers for orange juice and milk and bowls. I would store my cereal in clear storage containers. I'd ditch the plastic fruit and replace will real fruit. I would also set up a coffee station

If you remove a shelf or two in each section, you'll be able to add art and/or larger accessories so it won't feel cluttered. By painting the back (or inserting fabric covered wallboards), you'll make it feel lighter and brighter. A nice linen weave perhaps? We can't see your kitchen, but it looks like your hutch (which I love, by the way) needs to be set off more. It looks like your walls are almost the same color as the hutch - a lighter, different shade would look nice. As others have mentioned, I would display Fiestaware only on the three upper shelves; one or maybe two complimentary colors each season. Fewer pieces on each shelf would look great. I recently removed some dishes from my hutch because it was starting to look like a display case at a store! If you don't want to change the color of the back of the shelves, I would stand up platters or plates on each shelf to brighten things up. On the bottom, I like the fruit bowls or baskets with dried flowers on either side and a display of photos in small decorative metal frames - maybe a lighter bronze or pewter - in the center. I would put the stereo in another place rather than having it serve as a focal point. One coordinating glass vase or large jar would look nice on both the left and right sides of the hutch top.

You know, there are a lot of things that will work. Just depends on how you do it. Alice Galipp's suggestion could work.

Display one color per shelf with some alternating of shelves: some with collections and some without.

The purple does get lost against the dark wood, however, and will either need something behind it to make it stand out, or place a few pieces on a round tray and place on to your table.

If you want to go with this very colorful look, then I would look for an equally vibrant round rug for under your table.

Beautiful hutch. The whole area just looks a little dark to me. Walls are dark, cabinet is dark, floors look dark. I'd probably paper the backs of the hutch (built-in) if it were mine. I would probably put some light colored wallpaper over some type of thin board that would fit exactly into the back of each opening so I could change occasionally and not harm the wood itself. If the shelves come out, then all you have to do is the 3 back panels. I'd also remove the Fiesta dinnerware and would remove a shelf or two. I like the lamp, but would rather the shelf above it be removed so it would fit better instead of sticking out like it does. I like the idea of putting a few colorful cookbooks in there, maybe display a pretty plate on a stand, add a pretty picture, a small flower arrangement, etc. My husband said he wouldn't change a thing except to remove the colorful dishes and replace with something antique or much more subtle. That would depend on how the rest of the area was decorated.
