I'm in the planning stages of a major remodel of my 1950 tract house (oh, California ...). The house is more or less original and has the original metal cabinets. They're actually in great shape and I think they're cool. Is it reasonable to consider having them refinished? Are there people who do that kind of thing? Any idea of rough cost? More or less expensive than new cabinets?
