I know what you mean. One of my daylilies had new buds on them last week and I had to wait for it to bloom. It bloomed Saturday and was the only ditch lily in my garden.

I've one - in the ditch - that CAN rebloom if the county lets it grow. Since they are mowing today, I doubt I will see it this year. After all, the reblooming gene that is so prized in the garden daylilies came from somewhere!

I love the old common daylilies. Lots of childhood memories. I even had a shirt with a pic of them on it when I was about 7 or 8. Egads that I remember that shirt that far back!!

Oh neat, I didn't know they rebloomed!

I recently bought an orange striped August blooming 'August Flame." I guess they had to hybridize it from something!
