variegated pineapple mint

I have read online that with a variegated pineapple mint that if it starts getting solid green leaves they should be plucked off the plant because it is a variation of an apple mint and can revert.

My pineapple mint is growing little green leaves on the bottom of the plant. The problem is that the larger leaves are variegated. It appears like the varigation happens as the leaves get larger.

Should I let the leaves go and see if they change? Or is it better to just pluck anything that doeesn't look variegated? Or is what I read just a bunch of crap?

I'm new to mints. Thanks for your help.
