Catnip

I have some catnip that has lived for several years but most of it in my garden will come up one year, flower and have seed, then immediately die. The death can come from spring to late fall. Has anyone noticed this or do I have two different mints with catnip like foliage.

Oh wow! It's the first time I have catnip now that I have a kitty, ok he's a cat. It's currently beginning to flower. I've noticed it's turned a bit yellow, but I thought that was because Salem loves laying all over it! I have it in a saucer pot, and I was going to move it to a garden bed where my Mexican Lime is planted.

I'll post back after it seeds. Hopefully it won't die.
