I think I'm responsible for that recipe! I would have posted it over at Cooking or Recipe Exchange some time ago. Here it is again.

    Baked Rice Pudding (1)
3 generous tablespoons rice (make it 4 if using American tablespoons - this is an Australian recipe, and Aussie tablespoons hold 4 teaspoons, whereas American tablespoons hold only 3 teaspoons - you'll learn by experience!)
    1 cup condensed milk
    2 cups water
    pinch salt
    vanilla or other flavouring
    2 teaspoons butter
    pinch nutmeg

Put the rice into a buttered pudding dish, add remaining ingredients and mix well. Sprinkle a little nutmeg on top and bake at 150C for 1 1/2-2 hours until set. Serve hot or cold.

That does sound delicious, Daisy. Thank you. I do love rice pudding and that sounds so easy and good.

For fahrenheit users it would be 300 degrees.

NO but that does sound good. This was a cook on top of the stove recipe. It was only 4-5 ingredients and it was a whole can of milk, some rice, cinnamon and i think it had orange peel in it. I will keep hoping. It was soooo good. hehe

Kimmid, here's a recipe that Grandma used to make, it's stovetop, not oven.

    RICE PUDDING

    1 1/2 CUPS INSTANT RICE

    3 CUPS WATER

    1/2 TEASPOON SALT

1 ( 15 OUNCE CAN) SWEETENED CONDENSED MILK

    1/2 CUP RAISINS ( OPTIONAL)

    1/2 CUP BUTTER

    1 TABLESPOON VANILLA

2 TABLESPOONS ORANGE ZEST (I leave this out)

PLACE RICE AND WATER IN A POT AND BRING TO A BOIL, REDUCE HEAT TO A SIMMER AND COOK COVERED FOR 15 MINUTES. MIX IN MILK, RAISINS AND BUTTER. COOK AT MEDIUM HIGH HEAT FOR 20 MINUTES, STIRRING CONSTANTLY. MIXTURE WILL THICKEN
    SLIGHTLY.

REMOVE FROM HEAT AND STIR IN VANILLA. AS THIS COOLS IT THICKENS EVEN MORE.

SPOON INTO PARFAIT GLASSES. REFRIGERATE TILL READY TO SERVE.

Ken, yeah i know it isnt for home canning but i got the recipe on this site about a year and 1/2 ago.

Annie, that is pretty close. The recipe only had water, rice, sweetened condensed milk, cinnamon stick, raisins and orange zest. I just dont remember the amounts. I will just play around with it. Thanks all..........
