Good Day,

Like many folks in the Pacific North West, my cedar hedge was damaged by the amount of snow we received this winter. Some of the branches are flopped over and touching the ground, and the centre of the trees have been pulled apart and expanded to the point where they look terrible.

The cedars I have are the type that don't have a true centre stem, but rather a number of verticle trunks/branches that grow around the centre.

My question - the trees are ~8ft tall - can i hack these back to 5' and expect them to recover and grow normally?

Should I string them together first?
